The Love Of Teammates

For the love of our teammates:

I stand to unite brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends and strangers onto one team, fighting for one cause. I am standing up for my friends, my fellow teammates, and myself. I am recovering from an eating disorder and am proud to say I will be a survivor. I spent 4 years living a secret life of nothingness but I CHOSE TO LIVE AGAIN! Will you join my team and become a survivor and supporter to help others fight to recover the life they so deserve. I will be the first of many to wear this band, a symbol of love, life and freedom! If you are struggling, have struggled, or no someone with an Eating Disorder, will you openly and proudly wear this band to show the world that we will live again. I have spent to long hiding who I am. Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Patty Bergstrom and I am a 25-year-old former men’s lacrosse player who is proud to have faced and overcome an Eating Disorder! Will you join our team and me in helping others recover their life?

To my Teammates: I chose to live bands coming soon!

Many people struggling with an Eating Disorder have asked me this one question. “How do you control the E.D. urges when you’re alone and most vulnerable?” At first, I had no response but after thinking about it, I realized that I am never truly alone. I carry my team with me where ever I go. Let this band be a reminder that you are never alone in this fight. I am always with you, your fellow teammates are right beside you. There is great strength in numbers. Be strong and believe!

To our Supporters:

To those that support our team, I thank you for daring to be different. With your support, my one voice will turn into many. People who struggle with an ED deserve to live free from the disorder. They did not wake up one morning and decide to have any eating disorder. I would wish this fate upon nobody. To truly beat this monster, one must be strong enough to suffer through immense pain and face the reality that they must openly face whom they truly are inside and share it with others. To recover from the “Enabling Dictator,” we need your love and support. Together we can help save lives. I challenge everyone to dare to make a difference and open your heart to those suffering from an eating disorder.
