Recovery Creed
Today we choose to live. On this day, we stand beside the millions fighting a life and death battle with addiction. We choose to be a part of The Recovery Team that will empower, love, encourage, and support our fellow brothers and sisters. To become a member of this team is simple, yet very powerful and honorable. The only requirement is that you show love, support and encouragement to yourself and those in recovery. In turn, we will do the same for you as we are only as strong as those who build us up. We are a part of a TEAM that will never give up. We believe in living by faith, chasing our dreams, and following our hearts.
Today we stand up and choose not to live by unrealistic worldly standards. We are not some thoughtless label, nor will we be a simple statistic. We will not be defined by our past, and we are not an addiction. We are fully aware that we cannot change our past. As a team we will learn and grow from every experience; living each moment to the fullest. We believe that “True Beauty” lies within and that every person is unique and diverse. There will never be a more beautiful “you”, and for that, we are forever grateful.
Today we choose the road to recovery, though at times, it may be difficult and dark. We choose to be a light in the world. Today we choose to shine on the darkest of days and trust in each other when faced with affliction. We choose humility over pride. On this day, we choose to take a road that will be challenging, yet beautiful and enlightening. This road to recovery is the only path for us!! This journey will set us FREE!!
Today we choose to live in love, and not in fear. We will face our fears and adversity head on. We will greet each day with a smile and bring laughter into the world. With our Team at our side, we can make it through each day!!
Today we are Unstoppable, Unashamed, and we are Unbelievable gifts to humankind. We choose to stand for what is right and true. On this day, we choose to be courageous. Today we choose to be heroes. Today, we choose to change the world, and not let the world change us. Today, we choose to carry on the message of HOPE and FREEDOM!!
On this day, WE CHOOSE TO LIVE WITH FEARLESS CONFIDENCE!!!
